“I’m glad this bill was signed into law today. The last thing someone needs to worry about after the death of a loved one is a trip to the motor vehicle commission,” said Corrado (R-40). “This commonsense legislation will remove unnecessary government red tape and allow surviving spouses to use their decedent’s vehicle until the registration expires.”
Under previous law, a surviving spouse could operate a motor vehicle under a decedent’s registration certificate for 30 days.
Corrado’s legislation, S-3424/A-1550, allows the surviving spouse, or other family member, to operate the decedent’s vehicle until the registration expires.
