Sen. Jon Bramnick will receive the Community Advocate Award during the Good Grief Gala on Wednesday, October 25 in Florham Park. (Good Grief, Inc.)
Bramnick, an influential Senator representing Legislative District 21, will be joined by honorees from the public and private sectors, to be honored “for his continued efforts to make grief support and resources part of New Jersey public education” during Good Grief’s Gala at the Park Savoy Estate.
“I am extremely honored and grateful to Good Grief for this incredible award,” Bramnick said. “Grief is one of the hardest emotions to understand and manage as an adolescent. I will continue efforts to get my legislation to the Governor’s Desk because it is imperative to give our schools the tools they need that will help our students learn how to effectively manage the physical, emotional, and behavioral impacts of grief.”
Bramnick’s bill, S-3330, was unanimously passed by the Senate in May and now awaits action in the General Assembly. The bill would require public school districts to add instruction on grief for students in grades eight through twelve.
