“Toms River not only lost a great public servant but a man of dignity and pride for his community,” stated Senator Holzapfel. “He was deeply committed to his country, serving 28 years with the Marine Corps. I truly believe Toms River would not be the great community it is without his 50 years of public service. He was a great man who surely will be missed by the many people who have had to pleasure to know him. We extend our condolences to his loving family and friends.”
“Mayor Kelaher extended himself beyond the role of Mayor and truly lived to serve the people,” said Assemblyman McGuckin. “As a lawyer and former Ocean County Prosecutor for five years, he was a great mentor to me. When I served on the Toms River Council, I truly appreciated his friendship and guidance while we worked together to create a better Toms River.”
“We are sending our thoughts and prayers to Mayor Kelaher’s family added Assemblyman Catalano. “He was a great man whose legacy will stand the test of time. Toms River is a better community because of his service. He will surely be missed by all.”
