Residents Urged to Sign Petition Against Governor Murphy’s Plan
In a recent interview, Governor Phil Murphy proclaimed that making driver’s licenses available for undocumented immigrants in New Jersey is a “no brainer.” Senator Jim Holzapfel and Assemblymen Dave Wolfe and Greg McGuckin of the 10th Legislative District are vehemently opposed to this idea and any legislation aimed at providing driver’s licenses to those who have entered the country illegally.

“This is a brainless idea constructed by Governor Murphy and the Democrats who seem to care more about illegals than they do about the naturally born citizens of this state,” stated Senator Holzapfel. “Residents pay every time Democrats implement these types of policies in the form of higher taxes, lost jobs, lower wages and a lower standard of living. This proposal is an outrage and a dangerous political statement that jeopardizes the safety of millions.”
An online petition was launched to counter the passage of pending legislation (S-3229/A-4743) that would allow the State to issue driver’s licenses to persons who are “unable to prove lawful presence in the United States.” The legislation is part of Governor Phil Murphy’s effort to turn New Jersey into a sanctuary state.
“When the MVC changed its regulations and implemented a 6-Point ID system to obtain a drivers’ license, many of our senior residents experienced difficulty and aggravation during this process,” said Assemblyman McGuckin. “How lenient will the documentation requirements for illegals be? How is it fair to allow undocumented immigrants the ability to obtain a driver’s license while the average citizen needs to display an enormous amount of identification?”
Concerned citizens can sign the petition online by visiting:
“New Jersey is a diverse and welcoming state, but allowing undocumented immigrants the ability to obtain a driver’s license goes too far,” added Assemblyman Wolfe. “If you oppose this you must act now. We strongly urge our constituents to sign the petition and tell Trenton Democrats and Governor Murphy that we will not allow New Jersey to be turned into a sanctuary state.”
