“We are shocked and heartbroken. This deadly viral outbreak was clearly a preventable tragedy, and State Officials must take immediate action to deliver justice to the families who are being forced to reckon with every parent’s worst nightmare – the loss of a child.
“The children who died were already at a high risk of infection. They needed more care and more oversight; not less.
“We are pleased to see that the Health Department and the Governor have responded quickly, but words are not enough. Not to the families who are grieving, and not to us.
“As the elected officials who represent the district where these children lost their lives, we will keep a very close eye on this situation, so that we can hold State Officials accountable for ensuring this never happens again.”
