“Immediately following his election, I made a public offer to work with Governor Murphy to raise the minimum wage to a level that’s modern and fair,” said Kean. “The offer still stands. We should work together to accomplish a minimum wage increase in a bipartisan way.”
Governor Murphy is scheduled to hold a roundtable discussion today on his minimum wage plan.
“For Democrats who have been critical of single-party government in Washington, they should use this opportunity to demonstrate to the public how they can manage that responsibility better in Trenton,” added Kean. “They may be surprised to learn that there’s room for bipartisan agreement on significant issues like the minimum wage, but that can’t happen if they choose to go it alone.”
