On the 100th anniversary of the United States entering World War I, the Burlington County WWI Memorial Committee unveiled a beautiful new memorial at Freedom Park in Medford. The monument honors the men and women who served in the war and the 89 county residents who died during the war.

Senator Dawn Marie Addiego and Assemblyman Joe Howarth of the 8th Legislative District were pleased to be able to attend the event and thanked the Memorial Committee and the Medford Township Council with proclamations that acknowledged the time and effort put into erecting the monument that will keep the memories of our veterans alive.

The day featured essays and poems written by local students that contextualized the war and a keynote speaker, Colonel James Martin, the Deputy Commander of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
