Senator Christopher J. Connors, Assemblyman Brian E. Rumpf and Assemblywoman DiAnne C. Gove announced that following last year’s approval of $39 million for clean water and drinking water projects, another $19 million has just been approved to finance additional projects in the 9th Legislative District.

This action stems from the enactment of two legislative measures recently signed by the Governor that pertain to the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust.

The 9th District delegation issued the following statement following the approval of additional financing for drinking water projects in the state:

“There are few other issues more important to our constituents than clean drinking water, which is why we are pleased that this financing has been secured for the 9th Legislative District.

“It’s important to note that this $19 million in financing is in addition to the more than $39 million dollars in financing for clean water and drinking water projects that was approved for our district just last year.

“The fact that a significant portion of this financing has been dedicated for projects in the 9th District is appropriate as our area constitutes a large segment of the state’s overall open space preservation efforts.

“This latest approved financing will assist in the purchasing of critical equipment such as manufactured treatment devices and a camera pipe line inspection truck system for use by Ocean County. Financing will also be available for specified projects in several of our constituent municipalities.”

In addition to Ocean County, the four 9th District constituent municipalities set to receive financing for clean water and drinking water projects under this latest approved financing are Barnegat Township, Long Beach Township, Ocean Township (Waretown) and Stafford Township.
