Senator Gerald Cardinale (R-Bergen) congratulates Northern Valley Regional High Schools for outstanding special education performance that earned the district a $100,000 surprise state award.
“Students with disabilities deserve teachers devoted to their development and successes,” Cardinale said. “I am proud that Northern Valley educators are among the finest in New Jersey and thank the state for exemplifying the best to inspire improvement and greatness in more schools.”
The State Department of Education announced Friday $1 million in awards to the top 12 performing districts in the state, in terms of educating students with disabilities in the 2010-11 school year. These districts did not know they were eligible for this money until Friday’s announcement. The DOE also opened a $1 million competitive grant process for next school year.
