In response to remarks made by the President of the New Jersey Senate regarding Governor Christie’s budget vetoes, Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean, Jr. issued the following statement:

“Most times, those elected to serve are able to disagree without being disagreeable or making our policy differences personal.”

“I sincerely hope that, despite a contentious budget process, we are able to continue on the path of bipartisan problem solving. There are instances in people’s lives when emotions get out of hand and lead them to say or do things they wish they hadn’t.”

“I hope that the Senate President can resolve his differences with the Governor, because their spirit of cooperation has to this point allowed us to do great things for New Jersey.”
