“Establishing this resume bank will help ensure that our government continues to be more thoughtful, inclusive, and supportive of the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families,” said Kean (R-21). “This legislation will allow the state to more easily recruit talented people with disabilities to serve on important commissions and will give better overall representation to those individuals in state government.”

Senator Kean, who is a member of the Legislative Disability Caucus, has a long history of advocating for policies and programs that would benefit individuals with disabilities.

Under Kean’s current bill, S-3291, the resume bank will contain the following information: the resumes of individuals with disabilities; the individual’s name, address, and telephone number; any information related to the disability; and any pertinent information as to particular State boards, commissions, or task forces that are of interest to the individual.

“This bill is an important step in the right direction,” added Kean. “Actively recruiting people with disabilities will help create more inclusive policies for the future.”

The resume bank will be accessible to the both the executive branch and the Legislature.
