“Today’s historic move of our embassy to Jerusalem reinforces the strength of the relationship between the United States and our ally, Israel,” said Singer. “I applaud President Trump for putting words into action and relocating the American embassy to its rightful location in Jerusalem.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the move and urged other countries to do the same. Top Congressional Republicans and Democrats have also lauded the historic move.

Over the past two decades, U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama have all called for the American embassy in Israel to be relocated to Jerusalem.

“Relocating the embassy has been a presidential campaign promise for years,” Singer added. “I am pleased the move has finally come to fruition.”
