“#voiceofmiddleclass” – @SenatorBuono, 2/23/12

As if the 60% increase in property taxes wasn’t enough from the Trenton Democrats, the party of McGreevey and Corzine didn’t stop there.  The “#voiceofmiddleclass” raised taxes and fees on pretty much everything middle class New Jerseyans need to own a home and run a household:

Part II: Property Tax Explosion

“#voiceofmiddleclass” – @SenatorBuono, 2/23/12

Here’s how Trenton Democrats were the “voice” of middle class property taxpayers during their reign of absolute power:

Property taxes increased a whopping 60% from 2002-2009 when Democrats had complete control of New Jersey government.

Senator Michael Doherty, a member of the Senate Education Committee, announced today that he will hold a town hall meeting in North Plainfield to present and discuss his “Fair School Funding” plan. The town hall meeting will be held on Thursday, March 1 at the North Plainfield Community Center at 7 p.m.

Under current state law, some towns receive back just pennies on the dollar of the income taxes their residents pay to the state in the form of school aid allocated to their local districts through a convoluted funding formula that few people understand.

Oroho/McHose/Chiusano: Latest Figures Continue to Show School Aid Formula Is Broken

Senator Steve Oroho, Assemblywoman Alison Littell McHose and Assemblyman Gary Chiusano (R-Sussex, Warren, Morris) said today’s release of state school aid numbers are a cause of great concern to them as school districts in Sussex, Warren and Morris Counties continue to be deprived of their fair share of education funding.

“This is exactly why we need a new funding formula that is balanced and accountable,” said Oroho. “Dozens of our local school districts are now among about 185 suburban and rural districts shortchanged from receiving basic aid, leaving them faced with potential increases in already too costly property taxes.”

Senator Robert Singer (R-Monmouth and Ocean) said a plea deal reached in a case of senseless killings of innocent bystanders in Elizabeth is an egregious example of why the death penalty should be reinstated in New Jersey.

“A shooter in the murders of a 13-year-old boy and a 54-year-old construction worker can walk free at age 42,” Singer said. “Where’s the justice in that?”
