“Governor Murphy wants to use taxpayer dollars to push extreme policies that fund abortion without limits right up until the moment of birth,” said Oroho (R-24). “Now he’s spending millions to set up non-doctors to be abortion providers. There are better ways to help women than to put their health in jeopardy by paying for them to get medically invasive abortions by people without full medical training.”

The Administration’s $5 million grant, announced on Friday by Attorney General Matthew Platkin, will be used to support abortion training and to expand the pool of abortion providers in New Jersey. Rutgers University will receive the grant money to create and implement the new “New Jersey Reproductive Training and Education Initiative.”

“There are better ways to spend this $5 million to address true public health emergencies, like maternal mortality rates because of OBGYN shortages or teen mental health crises caused by the government-led pandemic lockdowns,” said DiMaio (R-23). “Instead, this administration is throwing taxpayer money at a publicity stunt for a nonissue.”
