“Extremists committed to establishing New Jersey as a sanctuary state are setting up our state for large-scale problems that legal, law-abiding taxpayers will ultimately foot the bill for in the end.

“While New Jersey is rolling out the red carpet for illegal aliens with taxpayer-funded entitlements, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents recently arrested 115 persons caught in New Jersey in a five-day sweep. The sweep included a Brazilian national wanted in his home country for murder. According to a press release issued by ICE, “This targeted enforcement action focuses on the arrest of individuals convicted of serious crimes and are a threat to public safety.”

“Why wouldn’t we expect illegals fleeing to New Jersey when our state’s corrupt laws and policies not only tie the hands of law enforcement but actually reward their criminal activities with safe harbor and entitlements? For now, law-abiding citizens here in New Jersey can only hope that ICE keeps up the pressure and works to counteract the reckless sanctuary state policies embraced by Trenton.

“Only days later after the ICE raid, another federal agency was forced into action on account of sanctuary state policies. As New Jersey prepares to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security suspended global entry and other trusted traveler programs for New York state residents due to sanctuary state policies that include providing driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. Why? Security concerns.

“As if we needed another argument against the passage of New Jersey’s indefensible illegal alien driver’s license law that Trenton is readying to implement. Expect longer lines as illegals flood MVC offices to get their license with little documentation. This is absolutely infuriating the seniors who went through enormous frustration in order comply with the 6-Point ID system.

“Residents don’t have to accept the schemes of those trying to turn New Jersey into the California of the East Coast. More than 22,000 people signed our Delegation’s petition opposing driver’s licenses for illegal aliens. The law passed the Legislature with barely enough votes, during Lame Duck no less. We’ll continue working with our constituents and like-minded public officials to fight sanctuary state policies. The needs of law-abiding citizens need to be put first so we can end the rank unfairness that’s only worsened under extremist policies.”
