Starting today, the 8th District Legislators will be accepting supplies at their new office located in the Elmwood Business Park, Suite B-101 in Marlton. The office park is located off of Route 70. Supplies and clothing can be mailed or dropped off anytime between 9am – 5 pm from Monday – Friday. Please don’t hesitate to call or email the office with questions at (856) 817-2143 or by emailing Chief of Staff Brian Woods at bwoods@njleg.org.

“Hammonton Schools are a true melting pot with a rich and diverse culture of students. The teachers and administrators in the district do a great job, and I’m honored to be in a position to help them have a great school year,” said Torrissi, who is a lifelong resident.

The 8th District Legislative Office holds an annual school supply drive, which benefits a new school district every year. This year, Hammonton is in need of several items, including backpacks, pens, pencils, folders, water bottles, gym shorts and more. A complete list can be found at the bottom of this article.

“We love getting the community involved each year to give back to our schools. Teachers and families nowadays have so much to worry about. If we can take something off their plate, we’ll do our best to do that,” Stanfield said.

The Hammonton School District spans four schools and serves around 3,600 students of various economic and ethnic backgrounds.

“We thank Hammonton Public Schools for allowing us to host this year’s supply drive and look forward to being close partners with the school district for years to come,” said Umba, who serves on the Assembly Education Committee.

A drop off date to the school district is to be determined. We will make an announcement when one is scheduled. To find our office, please put in Elmwood Business Park and then go to Suite B-101. The list of items needed are as follows:

  • Adult and kid-sized backpacks
  • Nap mats for PreK cots
  • Packs of new boys underwear size 6 & 8
  • Boys and girls pull gym shorts size 6/8
  • A few pairs of kids size flip flops or slip ons for emergency shoes
