Senator Connors received the award during a ceremony held at the Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in Galloway on February 6, 2015.

Senator Connors, who serves as Galloway’s 9th District Senate representative, earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Stockton College. For the spring 2012 Semester, Connors served as the Legislator-In-Residence at Richard Stockton College. Under the Legislator-In-Residence Program, members of the New Jersey State Senate and General Assembly are invited to Stockton’s campus to interact with students and faculty.

“Stockton College has always held a special place in my heart due to the exceptional education I received there and the pivotal role that’ invaluable guidance provided by faculty played in helping me determine a career path,” remarked Senator Connors. “For these and other compelling reasons, I am absolutely honored to be recognized by my alma mater.”

Connors further remarked, “Fortunately, representing Galloway, which is home to Stockton’s main campus, has afforded me more opportunities to remain involved with the College and have greater interaction with administrators, faculty and students. It is an amazing feat that, despite the tremendous growth in both the size of the campus and student population, Stockton has retained and improved upon its core values that distinguishes the College from other institutions. This includes, but is not limited to, Stockton’s unmatched student-faculty interaction as well as its unwavering commitment to improving higher education services for our veterans.”

“Stockton is something people want to be part of due to its leadership, expertise and effectiveness in building the beneficial partnerships necessary to pull our region through these troubling times” added Connors. “With each passing year, Stockton continues to grow as an economic force in the region, providing quality jobs while at the same time, serving as more than just a good neighbor but as a working partner with host communities to College facilities. Most important, Stockton has expanded to meet an increasing demand in New Jersey, created largely in part by economic uncertainty, for the quality higher education that students want and desperately need to compete in the global economy.”

Along with his 9th District legislative colleagues, Assemblyman Brian E. Rumpf and Assemblywoman DiAnne C. Gove, Senator Connors sponsored legislation signed into law that established the “VeTeach program” which is a pilot teacher preparation program at Stockton College for veterans who served in the armed forces on or after 9/11/01.
