“This bill could have disastrous implications for many thousands of independent contractors who deserve the right to choose their own opportunities to earn money and support their families. I’m pleased the concerns voiced by so many independent workers appears to be having an impact on the legislative process.

“Although the legislative changes being discussed lessen the impact on gig workers, I’m still concerned because there continues to be flaws in the current practices, which the amended bill would codify. We need to make sure all the unintended consequences of this legislation are corrected so those who choose freelancing can continue to enjoy their freedom and independence.”

“I will continue to fight to address the issues raised by independent workers in my district and around the state.”
