“I am thrilled that local restaurants in Morristown will be able to continue to serve their customers outside until the beginning of November,” said Bucco (R-25). “Extending the outdoor dining program along South Street and Speedwell Avenue will give a boost to many family-owned restaurants, helping them to stay afloat throughout these tough times while keeping more workers employed. This will allow more patrons to be served safely throughout the fall season.”

Bucco recently wrote a letter to transportation commissioner Diane Guttierez-Scaccetti to support Morristown’s request for an extension of on-street outdoor dining permits to November. She responded today approving the extension from October 15 to November 1.

“The COVID pandemic has battered New Jersey’s restaurant industry, with small mom-and-pop establishments on our Main Streets being the hardest hit,” added Bucco. “I am proud that our collaborative work with Mayor Dougherty and the Morristown Partnership to support these small businesses has generated positive results.”
