As part of ongoing efforts to advocate for Atlantic County families and workers, Senator Chris Brown is using social media, such as twitter and Facebook, to give local residents who are unable to attend Monday’s meeting a voice to ask questions about how the temporary shutdown will affect their lives.

Sen. Chris Brown has arranged for NJ Transit Executive Director Kevin Corbett to meet with riders at the Atlantic City Train Station. Today Brown also announced that residents can use social media and email to participate in the meeting at 8 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018.

Brown urges all residents who cannot attend the meeting to submit their questions to ChrisABrown@njleg.org, or via Twitter or Facebook.

“Without a doubt, the closure of the Atlantic City Rail Line affects all of our families, workers, and small businesses who rely upon our rail service to earn a living. Many of these families are unable to attend the meeting, but, still deserve the opportunity to speak their minds and have their thoughts shared with Executive Director Corbett, which is why I am using social media to give our families a voice,” Brown said.

Senator Brown was the first leader to stand up for Atlantic County families, retirees, and small businesses when the rail closure was originally announced. He called the shutdown “unfair” to workers who rely on the train to earn a living, and stating the temporary closure of the rail line also places the economic stability of Atlantic County at-risk.

In addition to arranging Monday’s meeting, Senator Brown has advocated for additional resources, such as temporary rail services and express busses, for Atlantic County residents.

After coordination with Governor Murphy’s Administration and New Jersey Transit, Sen. Chris Brown announced that a public meeting would be held at the Atlantic City Train Station at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018.

Now, Senator Brown announces he is using social media so everyone has the opportunity to be heard.

“For those who cannot attend, I will be your advocate. This is your line, your county, and your voice,” Brown added.
