“This is what we have come to expect from an Administration that continues to obfuscate the facts, details and rationale behind pandemic-related decisions,” said Pennacchio. “They have consistently denied access to what should be public information. This most recent rejection reinforces the need for a Legislative Oversight Committee with subpoena power.

“It is clear this information will never be forthcoming unless the Administration is forced.”

Our Early Pandemic Health Care Heroes Have Now Become the Governor’s Scapegoats

Senator Joe Pennacchio today challenged Governor Murphy to reconsider his aggressive vaccine mandate for health care workers in light of new evidence supporting the efficacy of natural immunity in people who have recovered from COVID infection.

“The Governor and his health commissioner are missing a crucial variable in their COVID spread equation,” said Pennacchio. “People who have survived the virus have a natural defense against future infections. It is the body’s way of protecting itself, and with the rampant rate of transmission we’ve seen in the past few weeks, there are many more residents walking around with powerful antibodies.”

Oroho’s legislation, A-6150/S-4119, signed Tuesday by the Governor, significantly increases penalties for the transfer or lending of licenses issued by authorized boards in the state.

“The laws against license lending are clear, but some contractors continue to cut corners to save time and money,” said Oroho (R-24). “The unethical practice is an all-too-common occurrence that can result in unnecessary health and safety risks. The penalties have not been sufficient to discourage the violators and this new law will turn up the heat.”

“With the same breath, the Governor vetoed a major tax relief bill (A-4958/S-3740) for Main Street businesses that passed both houses with unanimous bipartisan support and signed an indefensible bill (S-4094/A-6070) giving a plum tax break to Hollywood billionaires who share his left-wing philosophies.

“The Main Street bill would have provided desperately needed help for small businesses that sustained massive cost increases to stay afloat during COVID 19 and the Governor’s restrictions. That measure died on Murphy’s desk, but one wasting millions on out-of-touch movie makers was signed. Continue Reading…
