Senator Diane Allen (R- Burlington/Camden) is honored to have been named ‘Legislator of the Year’ by the New Jersey Fire and EMS Institute. The award, conferred at the Institute’s 2011 Annual Dinner on Monday, June 13, 2011, recognizes Senator Allen’s legislative commitment to New Jersey’s first responders:

“It is humbling to be given this stamp of approval by the professionals who risk life and limb for the families of New Jersey,” said the Senator.¬† ”¬†Just like every New Jerseyan, I’m grateful for the service these men and women provide to our communities. As a Senator, I work hard to make sure that government, at all levels, is meeting their needs and giving them the tools necessary to protect our communities. We always count on them in times of crisis and they never let us down. I want to make sure they can count on me and the State to support them.”

“Perhaps the strongest endorsements of Senator Allen came from our local members and affiliates in and around her district,” said NJ Fire and EMS Institute Chairman Carl Christensen. “So many of them cited something that she had accomplished for them, things that few outside of the local fire company or first aid squad would know about, but were of importance to them. This is the hallmark of a true servant of the public and friend of first responder community.”
