“I’m disappointed that Senate Democrats continue to block critical Port Authority reform despite knowing that adoption of the governor’s conditional veto recommendations represents the only path forward,” said Kean. “I’m particularly disappointed that none of my colleagues across the aisle supported the effort to complete Port Authority reform, despite broad bipartisan support for this effort to move forward.”

Kean is the sponsor of S-355 which provides governance, transparency, and accountability reforms at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Governor Christie conditionally vetoed Port Authority reform legislation (S-708) sponsored by Democratic legislators, including Senator Bob Gordon (D-38) and Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg (D-37), to change the language of their bill to match that of S-355 and identical legislation already approved by the New York Legislature and signed into law by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
