8th District Legislators Earned Perfect Scores for Their Voting Records on Bills Deemed Crucial to Taxpayers

Senator Dawn Marie Addiego and Assemblyman Chris Brown were recognized for their consistent voting record on behalf of the state’s taxpayers today, by the New Jersey Taxpayers Alliance (NJTA).

“Our primary goal in Trenton is making New Jersey affordable again for the taxpayers who live, work and raise families here,” said Addiego. “In the six years I have been in the legislature, I have fought for smaller, more accountable government, and lower taxes on New Jersey families and senior citizens.”

This is the third time the Taxpayers Alliance has issued a legislative scorecard, and Senator Addiego has earned a 100 percent grade each time.

“We are standing up for the taxpayers, who suffered the burden of 115 taxes in a decade of out-of-control spending in Trenton,” said Assemblyman Brown. “With Governor Christie’s leadership, our efforts have paid off with policies and reforms to reign in spending and to promote economic growth,” said Brown, who also scored a 100 percent from the Alliance.

Addiego and Brown were joined by 22 other legislators with perfect scores. Of the 120 representatives in the Senate and Assembly, only 47 received accolades from the Alliance for their support of taxpayers.

The NJTA graded legislators on their voting record on key bills with impact on individual and corporate taxpayer communities. Six Senate bills and seven Assembly bills were considered for the 2013 report card.
