DeCroce Names Wolfe to Assembly Budget Committee

Fills Seat Formerly Occupied by Marcia Karrow

Assembly Republican Leader Alex DeCroce announced today that he has named Deputy Republican Leader David Wolfe, R-Monmouth and Ocean, to serve on the Assembly Budget Committee. Wolfe will fill the seat vacated by Marcia Karrow, who was elected to the Senate, filling the unexpired term of former State Senator Leonard Lance.

“I am pleased to have Assemblyman Wolfe serving on the Budget Committee,” stated DeCroce, R-Morris and Passaic. “He brings a wealth of experience to the committee, having served eight terms in the Legislature, as well as on the Brick Township Council where he was also its president. Dave will join his fellow Republicans on this key committee who believe that it is imperative to cut spending and keep a close watch on how taxpayer dollars are being spent. I am confident that he will make a positive contribution.”

Wolfe currently sits on the Education, and Telecommunications & Utilities Committees, and is a professor at Ocean County College.

“Dave’s diverse experience at both the state and local levels of government will serve him well,” remarked Republican Budget Officer Joseph Malone, R-Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, and Burlington. “As we face huge challenges in balancing the state’s budget and reducing spending, his input will be well-received. He brings a fresh perspective to the committee and I welcome his participation.”

“I appreciate the support from both Leader DeCroce and Budget Officer Malone,” commented Wolfe. “I am eager to take on this new and important challenge. Our state is in the throes of a fiscal crisis, and many difficult decisions need to be made. I look forward to working with the committee members in seeking ways to responsibly reduce the state’s budget.”
