Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean, Jr. (R- Westfield) today welcomed former Assemblywoman Dawn Marie Addiego (R- Burlington) as the newest member of the Senate Republican Caucus:
“Burlington County Republicans made an outstanding choice in Dawn Marie Addiego to fill the shoes of Phil Haines,” said Senator Kean. “Dawn’s tenure in the Assembly has been one of tireless advocacy for reform in order to make New Jersey a more affordable place to live, work, and raise a family. I know I am joined by all my Republican colleagues in welcoming Senator Addiego to the caucus, and we look forward to working with her to further our agenda of tax reform, job creation, and fiscal responsibility.”

Senator Addiego was selected by Burlington County Republicans to fill the unexpired term of Phil Haines, who was appointed to the Superior Court by Governor Christie. She was sworn in today at a noontime Statehouse ceremony by Senate President Stephen Sweeney. Prior to her arrival in the Senate she had been serving the people of the Eighth Legislative District in the Assembly since 2008, where she was an Assistant Republican Leader. Addiego is a former member of the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders (2000-2008) and the Evesham Township Council (1993-2000).
Senator Addiego will serve on the Community and Urban Affairs, Health Human Service and Senior Citizens, and State Government, Wagering, Tourism, and Historic Preservation committees.
