Republican Senate Leader Tom Kean announced today that Deputy Republican Conference Leader Christopher “Kip” Bateman will take a new seat that has been created on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“Senator Bateman’s broad legal experience makes him eminently qualified to oversee the legal affairs of the state,” Senator Kean said. “His input and insights will be particularly valuable as Supreme Court appointments come up this year and in the future.”
Senator Kean also announced that he is joining the Education Committee of the Senate, replacing Senator Bateman on that key committee.
“Senator Bateman will devote his full attention to needs of the Judiciary and Environment Committees,” Senator Kean said. “I will be happy to continue the good work he has started as a member of the Education Committee. I look forward to helping the school children and college scholars of New Jersey.”
