Transparency Requires Monthly Disclosure of Contributions and Expenditures to Save Our State
Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean issued the following statement about the need for regular disclosure from the pro-toll hike group, Save Our State NJ. The Executive Director of Save Our State NJ, Jennifer Godoski, told the Star Ledger in early February that “…. the organization will disclose its donations monthly.”
“Governor Corzine has allowed Save Our State to drag its feet on disclosure. The organization is now backing off its promise to provide monthly reports of expenditures and contributions. Governor Corzine has promised transparency in government. Sadly, the governor’s actions do not match his rhetoric.
“I expect that the governor and the executive director of Save Our State to live up to their earlier promises to the people of New Jersey and disclose the contributions the group receives and the expenditures that they make monthly. To do any less is an insult to the citizens of this state.”
