“We’ve heard sad stories of young people unable to take their driver’s tests, Boy Scouts kicked out of campgrounds, and families who have had vacations ruined due to the closure of State parks and beaches,” said Pennacchio. “This is the result of continued mismanagement by Democrats who have controlled the New Jersey Legislature for the past 15 years. New Jersey deserves better.”

Pennacchio notes that the shutdown is the result of a split by legislative Democrats on the budget they proposed.

“Let’s be clear, the Democratic Legislature couldn’t get enough votes to pass a Democratic budget,” said Pennacchio. “This Democratic infighting is the reason the State is shut down, just like last time during the Corzine Administration. For the taxes they pay, the people of New Jersey deserve better. This is no way to run a government.”
