Corzine Needs to Hold His Ground on Dual Office Holding

Senator Thomas Kean, R-21, today called on Governor Corzine to hold firm to his principles and not bow to the members of his own party intent on blocking a real ban on dual office holding. Corzine had previously stated that allowing lawmakers to hold more than one elected position simultaneously is “an obstacle to achieving the common good we all desire. I cannot tell how strongly I feel about ending it – now.”

Senator Thomas H. Singer Bill Requiring Bus Driver Safety Training Advances

A bill sponsored by Senator Robert Singer (R-30), that would improve safety standards for operating school buses in New Jersey was approved by the Senate Education Committee today.  The bill would require a school bus driver endorsement on commercial driver licenses and require specialized training and testing for bus drivers.
