Senator Looks Forward to Dedication of Open Space Tract for Public’s Use
Senator Kevin O’Toole, R-40, made this statement after hearing Department of Environmental Commissioner Lisa Jackson testify to the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee about the Essex County Hilltop Park and Reserve:
“I applaud Commissioner Jackson for committing to fund and support the preservation of the 90-acre Essex County Hilltop reservation tract. The citizens of Essex County are looking forward to enjoying its natural beauty for decades to come.
“There is bipartisan support for this important project. I urge all involved to move forward as fast as possible with the completion of this project. I look forward to witnessing the dedication of Essex County’s last great open space to the use of its residents and visitors.”
Senator O’Toole and County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. have been in the forefront of efforts to preserve land in Essex County, one of the most densely populated parts of New Jersey.
