Award Given to Those Who Advance Economic and Environmental Causes
Senator Kevin O’Toole (R-Bergen) was named Outstanding Legislator of the Year by one of New Jersey’s leading economic growth and environmental advocacy organizations. The New Jersey Society for Environmental, Economic Development (NJ SEED), which advocates on behalf of issues that improve the state’s economic environment while maintaining protection of its physical environment, presented the award to Senator O’Toole yesterday during an awards ceremony.
“I am honored to have received this award from such an important and worthwhile organization, ” O’Toole stated. ” New Jersey SEED has been a leader for over thirty years fighting for issues that bring jobs to our state, strengthen our economy and protect the environment.”
Throughout his career, Senator O’Toole has been a leader on economic, environmental and quality of life issues in the state. Amongst other things, Senator O’Toole has sponsored laws to reform welfare, increase penalties on businesses and individuals who engage in discrimination and help preserve our state’s drinking water supply through the preservation of Sterling Forest.
“New Jersey has a rich and proud history of being a leader in innovation, a creator of technology and at the cutting edge of job creation, while protecting and preserving its natural resources,” O’Toole concluded. “I look forward to continuing to work with New Jersey SEED, legislators, business leaders, labor unions and environmentalists throughout the state to help make sure it remains this way.”
