Senate Republican Whip Kevin O’Toole stated the following in response to today’s announcement of New Jersey’s continued private-sector job growth:
“I commend the Gov. Christie for leading New Jersey’s economy on this path toward recovering the roughly 250,000 private-sector jobs lost under the Corzine administration. Instead of bracing for the consistent sting of job loss, we can now be encouraged, as thousands of New Jerseyans each month are returning to work to provide for their families.
“Meanwhile, legislative Democrats have been living in their own political, election-year world. It’s laughable to hear them hypocritically complain about New Jersey’s job growth, considering they sat silent when the state’s unemployment rate doubled from 4.4 percent to 8.8 percent between 2007 and 2009.
“I call upon my Democratic colleagues to work with Senate Republicans and the governor to recover the jobs lost under Corzine.”
