Oroho Calls for a Spring Cleaning of Over-Regulation

We Need to Create a Stable Business Environment

Senator Steve Oroho (R-24) issued the following statement today during the Senate Budget and Appropriations committee hearing. The hearing focused on economic development and job creation in New Jersey.

“New Jersey was once a financial powerhouse, characterized by strong job growth, consistent budget surpluses and sustainable tax relief programs. Today, however, after years of sky high tax increases and anti-business regulations implemented by the Democratic majority, New Jersey is struggling.

“In the first two months of this year alone New Jersey lost over 10, 000 jobs. Too many unjustifiable rules and regulations have caused businesses to shut their doors or to move to neighboring states.

“We need to re-establish New Jersey’s reputation of being a business friendly state. In order to successfully do this, New Jersey needs to have a stable regulatory atmosphere and a streamlined permitting process in which the rules are not being constantly changed in the middle of the game or costly new regulations routinely being added on the books.

“New Jersey has an excellent workforce, a prime location and a proud history to help it overcome years of unnecessary regulations and burdensome taxes. We have to begin now if New Jersey is to reclaim its role of being a leader in innovation, a creator of technology and at the cutting edge of job creation.”
