Senator Joseph Kyrillos, R-13, received the Taxpayer Advocate Award today in recognition for his strong support of responsible tax and spending policies in state government. The award was presented by The New Jersey Taxpayers’ Association.
“I want to thank the New Jersey Taxpayers’ Association for the work they do for taxpayers. I am honored to receive this award on behalf of my constituents in the 13th district and taxpayers throughout New Jersey.
Throughout my legislative career I have pushed for fiscal responsibility and fewer taxes. I voted against the income tax and sales tax increases that have further burdened taxpayers. Last fall I introduced legislation to repeal extending the sales tax to club memberships and parking fees. I also voted no to the so called caps-credit legislation.
We can’t continue to tax people and businesses out of the state and expect to thrive. New Jersey is at a tipping point. Now is the time for the Governor and the Legislature to make the tough choices needed to bring about real tax and fiscal reform that results in lowering taxes for families, seniors and businesses across the state.
Republicans have been calling for non-partisan fiscal reform throughout state government, and for four years our calls have been ignored. Without a change, the great state of New Jersey will continue down this tax and death spiral with no end in site.”
