Award Given to Those Who Advance Economic and Environmental Causes
Senator Joe Kyrillos (R-Monmouth) was named Outstanding Legislator of the Year by one of New Jersey’s leading economic growth and environmental advocacy organizations. The New Jersey Society for Environmental, Economic Development (NJ SEED), which advocates on behalf of policies that improve the state’s economic environment while maintaining protection of its physical environment, honored Kyrillos today at an awards ceremony.
“New Jersey SEED fights for progress on the issues that are most important to New Jersey residents, including job creation, economic development and environmental protection,” Kyrillos stated. “I appreciate this group’s diverse leaders, and I am both honored and humbled to receive this award today.”
Throughout his career, Senator Kyrillos has been a leader on economic and environmental issues in the state. Amongst other things, Senator Kyrillos has sponsored the:
Business Employment Incentive Program to stimulate job creation and cover the costs for businesses moving to the Garden State
Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Planning Act, ensuring a smooth transition as Fort Monmouth prepares to close under Base Realignment and Closure recommendations
Environmental Infrastructure Trust, legislation promoting eco-tourism in New Jersey
“I look forward to continuing my partnership with New Jersey SEED as it works for the betterment of all New Jersey residents,” Kyrillos said. “Making New Jersey more affordable and protecting the environment are quality of life issues we can all support.”
