Senator Jennifer Beck and Senator Joe Kyrillos members of the Senate Judiciary Committee issued the following joint statement regarding a nominee for County Superintendent who was held by the committee.
“We and many of our colleagues on the Senate Judiciary Committee believe that we need new blood in the upper management positions of our school systems. While managers who rose through the education system may very well be excellent educators, oftentimes they fail to turn a critical eye on entrenched waste and established inefficiencies.
“To end this ingrained-institutional problem we must hire managers from outside the established education system. Professionals from the public and private sectors with a proven track record of cutting costs, and eliminating waste. The taxpayer’s money must get into the classroom for education.”
