Senator Christopher J. Connors, Assemblyman Brian E. Rumpf and Assemblyman Daniel M. Van Pelt, all R-Ocean/Burl./Atl., announced today they are expanding their District Office service efforts through a new legislative-based website http://district9.senatenj.com/ designed to assist constituents.
“To build upon our continuing commitment to constituent services, our Delegation is utilizing the advantages offered by the Internet to assist our constituents through our legislative-based website,” said Senator Connors. “Though still a work in progress, the features of our legislative website have been designed to focus on those issues that constituents most frequently contact our office on. These issues include requests for information and assistance on property tax relief programs as well as notary public applications. For all inquiries, an option is provided on the front of the website to contact any member of our Delegation directly through E-mail.”
Under the “Constituent Help” feature, constituents can access information on:
- New Jersey Homestead Rebates
- New Jersey Senior Tax Freeze
- Notary application and renewal forms
- Unemployment insurance claims
Other features include recent press releases issued by the 9th District Lawmakers, biographies for each member of the Delegation, websites for municipalities comprising the District, as well as directions to the District Office located in Forked River.
“E-mail is quickly replacing the traditional means of written letters as the common means for constituents to contact our District Office, signifying a greater use of the Internet by our constituency, ” said Assemblyman Rumpf. “To adjust and accommodate to this new trend demonstrated among our constituents, our website will be used to carry on and enhance our District Office’s customary role as serving as a clearing house for information on state programs and services.”
Assemblyman Van Pelt went on to add, “This website will serve as an efficient and cost-effective means to enhance our ability to provide constituent services. Among those things we hope to achieve through this effort is to afford more people the ability to share their viewpoints and engage in the legislative process so that we can more effectively represent their best interests. We are already in the process of working on new features tailored to the needs and interest of our constituents that we plan to incorporate into the website which we hope to have available in the near future.”
