District 8

Statements from Addiego, Rudder & Brown on Asm. Alex DeCroce’s Passing

Senator Dawn Marie Addiego:

“Trenton is a somber place today in remembrance of Alex DeCroce’s grace, charisma and dedication to the people of New Jersey. During my time in the Assembly, I valued and benefitted from the guidance and steady hand of our Republican leader, and admired his grace and poise. His death is a loss to his family, his friends, the legislature and the State of New Jersey.”

Assemblyman Scott Rudder:

“I am saddened by the passing of Alex DeCroce, my friend, colleague and mentor. When Alex was the chairman of the Assembly Transportation Committee, I worked as his committee aide in the mid-1990s. I am proud to have followed in his footsteps of public service as a member of the Assembly. Alex died doing the people’s business in the people’s house. He was a true and honorable statesman and an outstanding person. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Betty Lou, and family, and his friends in Trenton and at home in Morris County. He will be deeply missed.”

Assemblyman Christopher J.  Brown:

“It was a somber swearing-in today. I met with Alex yesterday, and I was looking forward to getting to work under his leadership and tutelage. Today, I am more committed than ever to meeting the standard of excellence that he has established for service in the Assembly.”
