Long-Term Strategy Would Expand Economy, Make Trenton More Accountable
Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean, Assembly Republican Leader Alex DeCroce, joined by budget committee members Senator Steven Oroho and Assemblyman Joseph Malone, today unveiled a plan that identifies $1.32 billion in unnecessary spending in Governor Corzine’s Fiscal Year 2009 budget proposal and uses it to restore property tax relief and aid to state municipalities, while eliminating the need for gas tax increases to finance transportation needs.

Senator Jennifer Beck (R-Monmouth) issued the following statement and model veto message in advance of the Governor’s expected signature of the State budget which spends almost 20% more than just two years ago.

Senator Jennifer Beck (R-12) has released a video discussing the transportation proposals in the Republican Common-Sense Plan for a More Affordable New Jersey. It can be viewed at Senatenj.com.
The plan, introduced in May by Republicans in both the New Jersey Senate and General Assembly, provides fiscal and policy proposals that would make New Jersey more affordable and Trenton more accountable.
