Senator Anthony R. Bucco joined Assemblymen Michael Patrick Carroll and Anthony M. Bucco (all R-Morris) in receiving awards from Americans for Prosperity (AFP). Senator Bucco was named a “Defender of the Taxpayer”, while Assemblymen Carroll and Bucco were named “Taxpayer Heroes.” The designations were given to the District 25 representatives for their work in promoting fiscal responsibility in the legislature.
“I am honored to have been given this title by Americans for Prosperity,” Senator Bucco said. “As a small business owner, I personally experience how harmful taxes can be on economic growth. I strive to protect my fellow job creators with every action I take in the Statehouse.”
The awards were presented to each legislator at a luncheon hosted by AFP where those in attendance were given the opportunity to ask the District 25 representatives questions on key issues.
“I want to thank Americans for Prosperity for putting this luncheon together,” Carroll said. “I also want to extend my thanks to everyone who attended for discussing the important issues of the day. You can be sure that I will do all that I can to stay a Taxpayer Hero.”
“Today was a great opportunity to interact with our constituents and receive feedback on what issues matter most to them,” Assemblyman Bucco said. “It is clear that those we represent want us to reduce taxes and shrink the size of government. My colleagues and I are determined to continue to advocate for these goals in the Statehouse.”
Each legislative session, AFP releases the Taxpayer Scorecard, which gives each legislator a grade based on their votes for fiscal responsibility and promoting economic growth.
