Recently Sworn In to New District, Beck Goes to Budget & Appropriations Committee

On the heels of the state legislative reorganization, Senator Jennifer Beck today announced that she has been assigned to the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee. The thirteen member committee oversees New Jersey’s spending priorities and assists in crafting the state’s annual budget. The State Constitution mandates that a balanced budget is passed by July 1 of every year.

“This upcoming year is going to be full of new experiences and hard work as I get to know my new district and assume my new responsibilities on the Budget and Appropriations Committee,” said Beck (R-Monmouth). “I was recently sworn in as Senator of the newly created 11th Legislative district, of the 18 towns in my new district, 11 are new to me. I look forward to getting to know these new towns and my constituents.”

“I plan on approaching my new responsibilities on the Budget and Appropriations Committee as I have all new tasks placed before me, with commitment and determination,” Beck explained. “Every year this committee has an enormous task set before it. The decisions made during the budgeting process affect every man, woman and child in New Jersey. My sense of fiscal discipline will aid the process and continue the historic progress made by Governor Christie and his past two budgets.”

“I first ran for office because I wanted to give a voice to the people I’d represent,” Beck stated. “That goal is the same today as it was when I started and with my new responsibilities I will be even better capable of representing the interests of my constituents and all the people of New Jersey.”
