Senator Jennifer Beck (R-12) issued the following statement regarding Senator Jeff Van Drew who seemingly reconsidered his remarks published in the Press of Atlantic City and voted in favor of paid family leave.
“I am disappointed that Senator Van Drew, my colleague on the other side of the aisle, voted in favor of paid family leave. His remarks in recent editions of the Press of Atlantic City, Cape May Herald and the Bridgeton News were clear, unambiguous, indicated that he would not support any new legislation that has a price tag attached to it, ’” Beck stated.
Senator Beck explained that the paid family leave legislation includes a $130 million payroll tax, will create a large new state bureaucracy and will accelerate the flight of families and businesses from the state.
