215th Legislature Makes History
The swearing in of the 11th District legislators today marked an important moment in New Jersey’s history – the first all-female legislative delegation. Senator Jennifer Beck, Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini and Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande now represent the 11th Legislative District which is comprised of portions of Monmouth County.
“I have been proud of every step in my political career, as a Councilwoman in Red Bank in Red Bank, as an Assemblywoman and as a Senator for the past four years, but today is my proudest moment yet,” said Beck (R-Monmouth). “Standing with these two intelligent, capable and accomplished women is not only an honor, but a privilege. I look forward to representing the 11th District alongside Assemblywomen Angelini and Casagrande.”
“I am incredibly honored to make history as part of the first all female legislative delegation in New Jersey. As a mother and grandmother I am keenly aware of the many challenges facing New Jersey families. I look forward to working with Senator Beck and Assemblywoman Casagrande to improve our economy and make our state more affordable for all New Jerseyans,” Angelini (R-Monmouth) stated.
“With women still in the minority in the Legislature, it says a lot about Monmouth County that they have elected the first all female legislative team. But the issues that people care about, lowering property taxes and making our state more affordable are issues that all New Jerseyans care about. I will continue to work with Senator Beck and Assemblywoman Angelini on bringing fiscal responsibility back to Trenton,” Casagrande (R-Monmouth) said.
After the recent legislative redistricting process the new 11th Legislative District was created from parts of the previous 12th and 11th Districts. The towns comprising the 11th District are Allenhurst Borough, Asbury Park City, Colts Neck Township, Deal Borough, Eatontown Borough, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Interlaken Borough, Loch Arbour Village, Long Branch City, Neptune City Borough, Neptune Township, Ocean Township (Monmouth), Red Bank Borough, Shrewsbury Borough, Shrewsbury Township, Tinton Falls Borough and West Long Branch Borough.
