Grant to Fund “Celebrating 350 Years of New Jersey Women’s History Program” at Mount Laurel Facility
Senator Diane Allen (R- Burlington) thanked the New Jersey Historical Commission today for awarding $15,000 to Mount Laurel’s Alice Paul Institute. The funds come as part of a “mini grant” program administered by the Commission to fund specific projects at various historical organizations around the state.
“The Alice Paul Institute has done so much for young women interested in public service and the impact of women on the course of our state’s history,” said Allen. “API does a fantastic job of preserving the legacy of the women’s rights and suffrage movements in New Jersey, and I’m proud to have been involved with the Institute since its inception. This grant will fund an upgrade of the New Jersey Women’s History Website, an informational resource for students and teachers.”
The website can be reached at www.njwomenshistory.org, and is a joint project between the Alice Paul Institute and the New Jersey Women’s Heritage Trail.
