Senator Dawn Marie Addiego (R-8) issued the following statement today following the Democrats attempt to override Governor Chris Christie’s budget vetoes and spend an additional $900 million that the state does not have:
“The last time I checked deficit spending is illegal in New Jersey! It is irresponsible and unacceptable to continue to push forward with false hope and tell people we can fund hundreds of millions of dollars worth of programs when the money simply is not there.”
“Political theater in an election year is the last thing New Jersey families need to see. Rather than gimmicks and creative accounting maneuvers, New Jersey taxpayers deserve smaller, more efficient government.”
